FAQ's
Our goal is to offer free, easy access to all the information an entrepreneur needs to successfully start and run a business. One of BIC's unique features is our proprietary search engine technology, designed to get you more relevant results, more quickly than the public search sites. In addition, the BIC stands alone among business information Web sites by providing local resources for many major metropolitan areas and regions. The NHBIC will never charge a fee or attempt to sell commercial products to its users.
We want to know who you are so we can give you what you need! The registration information is used to customize the Web site based on your geographic location, your past searches, and other previous activity. The BIC will never sell, give away, or use your private information for any purpose without your permission.
First, you can conduct a search by typing your question into the box at the top left of the BIC home page and clicking the Search button. If you're not ready to search or aren't sure of your question, you can check the left navigation bar (i.e., Money, Markets, etc.), see if your topic is listed there, and click to see the related information. Or check the BIC BizCoach's list of most-asked business questions and click to see pre-screened search results from the BIC search engine.
The BIC Web site is designed to be viewed at a resolution of 1024x768. To see instructions on how to change your screen resolution in Windows, click here. If you have a Macintosh, click here.
In order to achieve the goals of the NHBIC, we must offer free access to all. We have accomplished this by securing grants from the U.S. Department of Labor and other government agencies, and by attracting commercial sponsors, such as Western Union, who are interested in fostering and promoting the mission of the NHBIC.
